Russia’s ALROSA produces 122-carat diamond costing $1.5 mln
MOSCOW, Feb 11 (PRIME) -- Russian uncut diamond mining giant ALROSA has extracted a diamond weighting 121.96 karats at the Yubileinaya mine, the company said in a statement Thursday.
Expert of agency Rough&Polished Sergei Goryainov told PRIME that the price of the gem is U.S. $1.5 million.
The octahedron-shaped diamond measures 31.28õ30.00õ28.57 millimeters, is transparent with a yellow tone, and is encrusted with olivine, graphite-sulphides on the periphery, ALROSA said.
